about

Our Oberon, Ryan, approached me with a melody for his spell in Scene 3 and I was delighted to realize I could back it up with the "Up and Down" progression! In the stage version I laughed along with him at the end, but the recorded version of his laugh was so good I decided it was lovely on its own.

lyrics

What thou seest when thou dost wake
Do it for thy true love take
Love and languish for its sake
Be it ounce, or cat, or bear,
Pard, or boar with bristled hair,
In thy eye that shall appear
When thou wakest, it is thy dear.
Wake when some vile thing is near
