about

This was the only song in the show that I wrote the words for in addition to the music. As an introduction to both Puck's character and the world of magic, I wanted to give the first impression that the forest is a place that is beautiful and also extremely dangerous. It might not hurt you, but if you're not careful it will lure you in and swallow you whole. And who better to give that warning than the infamous hobgoblin Puck?

lyrics

Wandering through a forest, the edges long gone
As the wind through the trees lets out an ancient yawn
Like a melody, a gentle lover's song
And if you listen hard enough, you just might believe you belong

How glad I am to find you here lost and all alone
A stranger in a stranger land than you have ever known
You have found your own and not your own
But if you linger long enough, you just might believe that it's home
